The Oaks – Cessnock
Located in the City of Cessnock, at the gateway to the famous Hunter Valley vineyards, the Oaks is one of the Hunter Region’s oldest public golf courses. Home to the prestigious Jack Newton Junior Golf Classic, The Oaks has been played by an array of famous golfing names including Aaron Baddely.

This exciting new golf and residential development will see the course expanded to incorporate a variety of residential opportunities throughout the course. The Oaks will also feature a new tourist development and clubhouse, encompassing a four star hotel for accommodation and corporate events.

The proximity to the vineyards and nearby access to a rapidly expanding township, that includes modern shopping convenience and services, is expected to create strong demand for these limited residential lots.

On the golf side, the classic course layout will enjoy a full facelift with six new holes and a redesign of other existing holes being undertaken by Jack Newton to create a Championship standard course.

Born in Cessnock, the former Australian Open Champion brings a wealth of knowledge to the development having undertaken similar redesigns for famous Australian courses such as Kingston Heath. Having enjoyed significant international success as a player, Jack’s combined influence as both player and designer will help to ensure that The Oaks new layout is both enjoyable and challenging for golfers of all skill levels.
